Ella's Story
I got my love of cooking from my mom, Jill, an amazing chef and caterer. We created Zebra Popcorn together as a party favor for my 7th birthday, and it was a hit! Pretty soon all of our friends and neighbors were asking where they could get more, and Ella's Popcorn was born. My mom taught me what a difference it makes when you use the very est ingredients, so at Ella's we make our popcorn with premium chocolate, spices and flavors. My palate has evolved since I was 7. I like Strawberry Hibiscus now, the idea is the same: create fun, nostalgic treats for friends and family. I hope you love it!
Sister Act
Ella’s Popcorn, launched in 2020, is the latest venture from sisters, Jill Santa Lucia and Lorin Laxton, partners for over three decades running Catering Works of Raleigh, North Carolina, an off-premises catering business with expertise in special events that amaze and delight. After years of serving the delicious confections and savories through their successful catering business, Ella’s Popcorn cultivated its own fan base that longed for Ella’s to be its own stand-alone product. Ella’s Popcorn is truly a passion project for these sisters. Jill, an award-winning chef, is our Popcorn Visionary, directing the creation of delectable flavors. Lorin, as a veteran of the US Navy, functions as our Kernal-in-Chief, handling the marketing, technical and logistical aspects of Ella’s. As the sweet caramel complements the savory white cheddar in The Gold Rush, so too, do these sensational sisters complement each other!
