Local Honey, Shared Purpose: Why We Created This Box

Some products come together quickly. Others take shape over time through conversations, partnerships, and a growing sense of what matters most. This one falls into the second category.

Our Bee Sweet, Do Good Gift Box started with something simple: a desire to go deeper into what “local” really means for us.

We’ve always sourced thoughtfully and made everything in small batches, but this felt like an opportunity to build something more connected. Something that reflects not just great ingredients, but the people and purpose behind them.

A Closer Look at the Honey

At the center of this box is the honey we use in our Bee Dreamy Popcorn. It comes from Bee Downtown, a company based right here in our community that focuses on urban beekeeping, education, and sustainability.

Their hives are placed throughout the Triangle, including at the North Carolina Museum of Art. The bees forage naturally, pulling from whatever is in bloom around them. From wildflowers, trees, and seasonal plants, the honey is completely shaped by the local environment.

It’s simple, but also amazing when you think about it. The bees do their thing, the landscape shapes the flavor, and what you get in the end is local honey, uniquely sweet.

Why This Partnership Matters

Working with Bee Downtown felt like a natural fit, not just because of the product, but because of their mission.

Bees are responsible for pollinating a huge portion of the crops and plants we depend on, yet their populations are under constant pressure from habitat loss, climate shifts, and other environmental challenges. Bee Downtown is actively working to change that by building and maintaining healthy hives, creating safe spaces for pollinators, and helping people better understand why all of this matters.

We’re not experts in conservation. But we can be thoughtful about who we partner with—and this felt like a meaningful place to invest.

Bringing It All Together

The box itself is simple: two bags of our almond-studded, honey-coated popcorn, paired with a jar of that same local honey.

But what we love about it isn’t just what’s inside. It’s what it represents.
